As a Community Lead
I want visitors to be walked through their survey answers again when it has been a while since they last updated them
So that the data in my community dashboards stays accurate without me chasing people manually.
Description
Profiles go stale. People change jobs, roles and interests, but they rarely go back to update their answers on their own. This feature catches them at the moments we already have their attention: registration and check-in. Both sit in front of the live event space, so every visitor passes through one of them.
The Community Lead sets a threshold in days. When a visitor registers or checks in and their survey answers were last updated more than that many days ago, they see a short intro screen and are then taken through the survey. Every question is prepopulated with their existing answer where one exists, so for most people this is a quick scroll and a tap on Save.
Intro screen copy
Your profile was last updated on {date}. Have a quick look and make sure your answers are still up to date.
We use this to match you with the right people and to make sure we’re creating the impact we’re here for.
One action: Review my answers. No skip and no snooze. A Community Lead who wants to pause the reminder for a busy night sets the threshold to 0.
Scope
“Last updated” refers only to survey answers (custom registration questions and standard profile fields that feed the dashboards).
It does not reset on name changes, email changes, toggling public/hidden profile, or other account settings.
Saving the survey counts as an update, even if nothing was changed.
Acceptance criteria
Community Lead can set the threshold in days in the community settings. Default for new communities is 365 days. Empty or 0 disables the reminder.
The last-updated date is stored per visitor per community and changes only when the survey is saved.
On registration and on check-in (QR self check-in and kiosk), if today minus last-updated date is greater than the threshold, the intro screen is shown before the flow continues.
The intro screen shows the actual last-updated date in the visitor’s locale format.
“Review my answers” opens the current survey for that community with every question prefilled from the visitor’s stored answers. Questions added since their last update appear empty. Answers to questions that no longer exist are not shown.
Required questions behave as they do in normal registration: the visitor cannot save without answering them.
Saving sets last-updated to today and returns the visitor to the original flow (check-in completes, badge prints).
First-time visitors with no survey answers yet are never shown the reminder; they go through normal registration.
A visitor is taken through the review at most once per event, even if they check in to multiple sessions that night.
Changing the threshold applies to future registrations and check-ins only; nobody is prompted retroactively. Setting it to 0 takes effect immediately.
The matching line adapts to the community’s settings: when match making is off, the second paragraph reads “We use this to make sure we’re creating the impact we’re here for.”
