When creating a new session under the 'Upcoming Sessions' section, specifically within the 'Event' dropdown field, it would be much more user-friendly if the list only displayed events that are upcoming and have not yet taken place. Currently, past events also appear in the dropdown, which makes it harder and more time-consuming to locate the correct future event. Filtering the list to only show active/upcoming events would make the selection process cleaner, quicker and easier for users creating new sessions.

As a: community member or visitor I want: to search across all public information in GatherUs So that: I can quickly find events, sessions, partners, speakers, and other relevant content without browsing through multiple pages ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA Core Functionality: •⁠ ⁠Search bar prominently displayed in header with global visibility •⁠ ⁠Single search field that queries across all public content types •⁠ ⁠Real-time search suggestions as user types (autocomplete) Search Scope: •⁠ ⁠Search across: •⁠ ⁠Events (title, description, date, location, tags) •⁠ ⁠Sessions (title, description, speaker names, topics) •⁠ ⁠Partners (organization name, description, industries) •⁠ ⁠Speakers (name, bio, expertise areas, events they're speaking at) •⁠ ⁠Any other public content (blog posts, announcements, resources) Search Results: •⁠ ⁠Display results grouped by content type with badges/sorting •⁠ ⁠Show relevance ranking (matches in title > description > tags) •⁠ ⁠Highlight search terms in results •⁠ ⁠Provide 3-5 results per category initially, with "view more" options Filtering & Sorting: •⁠ ⁠Filter by: content type, date range, location, tags/categories •⁠ ⁠Sort by: relevance, date (newest/oldest), popularity •⁠ ⁠Applied filters visible and easy to remove UX Requirements: •⁠ ⁠Search functionality accessible via keyboard shortcut (Ctrl/Cmd + K) •⁠ ⁠Empty state shows popular searches and trending content •⁠ ⁠No results state provides helpful suggestions •⁠ ⁠Mobile-responsive design

After one moth of data we are implementing solutions to the most crucial learnings that we have had. These updates include: ✅ People not ending up at the expected screen when checkin ing, leading to; Not getting checked in the first time the scan the QR – We have heard a lot of reports about that people are not getting their sticker after scanning the QR-code. Only after scanning QR-code again does it print. Make it clear people with existing accounts can use SSO Add sign in with Apple with SSO (Pending their review approval) ✅ Printer stability improvements ✅ Test with more browsers and patch potential issues. Update profile (including email) to allow for SSO connection moving forward. ✅ Investigate solutions for edge-cases: people without a phone, poor connections etc. ✅ Investigate why some people don't stay signed in

Allow a manual check-in laptop for accessibility reasons and customer recovery purposes. If the technology doesn't work perfectly, attendees are still able to trust our brand by checking in on a computer instead of giving up, ignoring the new protocols, refusing to stick with it, or moving on without checking in.
